Workshops developed after LTTA1 in Croatia

Students workshops

On Friday, February 21, a class of 23 students attended a presentation on Artificial Intelligence.

A teacher who had participated in the training session in Croatia, accompanied by three students, first introduced AI and highlighted its key achievements.

In order to better understand how AI learns, the students engaged in the “Monkey vs. Crocodile” chess activity, which had been presented in Croatia during LTA1—first using a paper-based version, and subsequently in a digital format.
Throughout the activity, the Erasmus+ students provided guidance and were eager to share the knowledge they had acquired abroad. The class actively engaged with the exercise and expressed great enthusiasm for the session. They were particularly impressed to observe how AI, by learning from its mistakes, was able to improve rapidly and eventually outperform a human player.

Teachers workshops

On Tuesday, March 25, around 20 teachers took part in a presentation on AI.

The two teachers who had attended the session in Croatia, accompanied by two students, first introduced AI and its achievements. The teachers then discovered how AI learns. To illustrate this, they played the “Monkey vs. Crocodile” chess game, which had been presented in Croatia during LTA1—first in a paper-based version and then in a digital one.

They greatly appreciated learning more about AI and how it trains itself. A parallel was drawn with students: “AI learns from its mistakes.” The teachers left the session enthusiastic and eager to learn more about AI and the educational tools it can provide.

Workshops developed after LTTA2 in Spain

Students workshops

After the LTTA2 in Spain, French students organized one workshop for their peers. And the I.T teacher organiezd one workshop too. These workshops provided valuable opportunities for peer-led learning, critical thinking, and creative exploration related to artificial intelligence and its applications.

Workshop 1: Art creating with AI
13th june (23 students) and 17th of june (21 students)

Leaders: Louis, Emie, Anaïs, Albin
Description: First, a presentation of different kinds of art and artists painters. Presentation of a virtual music band.
Second, students chose a painting, tried to reproduce it with paint and asked Guru to create a painting like a painter they have chosen. Then they had to compare the result with Guru with the real painting.
Learning Objectives:
- Develop creativity .
- Learn about using Guru and its limits
- Develop critical thinking and be aware of virtual cretion
- Understand the potential benefits and risks associated with AI creation
- Foster innovation and artistic expression through technology.

Workshop 2: Energy Consumption of AI Technologies
Date: 23rd of june
Leader: Carole ( IT teacher)
Present students: 22
Description:This workshop addressed the environmental impact of artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on energy consumption. Students participated in practical tasks similar to those performed by a French professor, exploring ways to measure and reduce AI’s energy footprint.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the environmental implications of AI technology.
- Analyze how AI consumes energy and the importance of sustainable AI practices.
- Apply practical methods to assess and minimize energy use in AI applications.

Teachers workshops

On Friday, August 29, on the occasion of the back-to-school preparation, we organized local workshops for all teachers. These workshops focused on two themes that had been addressed in Madrid.

The first dealt with the environmental impact of AI, particularly the energy and water consumption of each query. The second theme explored the benefits of AI in education. We based our approach on the use of Magic School.
Teachers had the opportunity to discover a Lesson Plan Generator, a Quiz/Multiple-Choice Test Creator, a text simplification tool to adapt content to students with lower reading levels, and a Rubric Creator.
The thirty or so teachers who attended appreciated the session. They found it very enriching. Most of them are ready to reuse the tools presented and are eager for more sessions.
